Goodbye Molly on Rich Ranch

While we were away we received very bad news. Our Molly was attacked by a Caracal (Rooikat) and did not survive.
Molly was given to us by one of the students that work for us and when she arrived we were not sure about her. We had never had such a small dog, but she soon crept into our hearts. She had such a big heart and was so brave for such a tiny little thing.
Moll's Favorite Pastime
She loved the quad. She actually grew up on the quad. When she was tiny she went everywhere with me on the quad in my backpack and soon she was quite comfortable on the back just behind me. You could ride at any speed and over all the bumps and Molly would stay on the back of the quad. She could run at close to 40 km an hour next to the quad and just loved the bush. I could never see her living anywhere else. She was also so inquisitive that she always had to investigate any sound or movement in the bush and ultimately this was her downfall.
Molly And Her Kittens
She took on the role of mother and carer of the kittens when they arrived and would not let them out of her sight if she thought they were in danger.  She fed them and cuddled them until they fell asleep.
She was the perfect watch dog and we were always made aware of anything that was not the norm to her little world.
Molly I will remember you and all your quaint little traits and that you taught me to love unconditionally, no matter how different we are.
