Rich Ranch - Snow in Gauteng

Snow In Gauteng
We were all packed and ready to leave when our school departed last Sunday - so off to Johannesburg it was.
The weather had been beautiful and it was so warm that the girls even had a swim on Saturday. But we were in for a big surprise. On Wednesday we woke up to freezing weather that was blown up from the Cape. By eleven o'clock the snow was falling. We sure are not used to this kind of weather But it brought great excitement and we had to be outside to catch a few snow flakes. I can't remember when last it had snowed here in Gauteng. It didn't last too long and by five pm all was melted and we were just left with freezing weather.
Our Competency Certificates arrived, so this week we worked on our application for our gun license. All our documents with photos and motivation is ready and tomorrow morning we will hand them in at the Police Station.
A Queue 2km Long
On Thursday was "Woman's Day" so all the schools and some of the factories and businesses had Friday off and loads of people were off for a long weekend. I don't think everyone thought it would be so cold so I feel very sorry for all those who went camping and caravaning. On our way back to the farm you could see everyone returning home and there were queues for about two kilometers long going through the toll back on their way to Johannesburg.
Well it's back to work and I'm very happy to be back on the farm again.
