8mm of soft rain fell early this morning. This is much needed for planting time.
Well I thought I was going to tell you guys the TLB was up and running, but no such luck. The gent did come out all the way from Delmas to come and do the fixing. The last time he was here he saw what parts were needed and ordered them. All the parts that he brought our here were wrong parts. Now I must tell you that it was no fault of his. I think I can mention his name it is Jan. Very soft spoken and very helpful when Richard phones for advice. I will ask Richard what his surname is; it is worth mentioning his name. But the problem lies with the suppliers. Jan took the part to the one company; they measured it, told him they did not have stock and had to order from Cape Town. When he told them it was the incorrect part after being out here they told him they had eight of the correct ones in stock all the time. What is it with people now a day? With the economy as it is you would think customer service should have improved or is it that people don’t care. Surely we should just go back to being basic good, kind, and helpful human beings.
Anyway Jan will try and be back today with the parts to get our TLB (I quite like this term) going so that Richard and his crew don’t have to do the back breaking work of manually loading the feed. You guys should see him hobble around after he has sat and watched TV at night. It’s like he his back has seized up. I told him I was ready to buy the walking stick for his birthday this year. I got no reply only the look
Cheers
