Update at Rich Ranch

We had to put ourselves to the test over the past two weeks, so off we went to Gauteng just to see that we had not turned into"plaasies" We went to eat out and shop in the malls and we even went to movies. I think it must be four or five years ago that we got into a movie house. Any way, what a shock - R 100 for two tickets. So what we did was join the movie club and now we can go to movies on a Tuesday at half pricem We're better not wait another five years.
While we were away we lost three calves. One fell into the dam and could not get out. One was struck by lightening and one just disappearedm This is not the first time this has happened in the valley over the past few months. "Last month we missed a new born calf and our neighbour is also missing about five cattle. There are also blesbok missing so all in the valley have come to the conclusion that it is leopard. A while back one of the workers from next door saw leopard spoor and we were not sure if it was or if it was just the aftermath of a very good weekend. We will have to get the reserve in to trap and move them.
Well just to let you know we did pass the test. It is official. We are not "plaasies" yet.
Soon
