Well 2010 is well on its way and I cannot believe January is past already. We have been so busy since the schools have started that I am using that as an excuse for not posting on the blog.
Just a few updates.
Our cattle are looking really good and all the ladies were expectantly waiting for the bulls, or was it the bulls expectantly waiting for the ladies. Anyway they are all very busy earning their keep on the farm.
The little bulls that were born last year were sold in December. This year we are going to keep the females to build up our herd.
This December was the heaviest December rainfall ever since we have been on the farm. 233mm to be exact. From 20th December everything dried up for three weeks and we thought our sugar graze was going to be in trouble, but God knows exactly what he is doing and after the January rains our crop was saved and we will have good feed for the cattle again this winter. Just hope they are all pregnant.
I have pinched some time from one of our schools while they are here to do this post so too-da-loo for now.
Will post soon.
