Back at Rich Ranch

A two week break is just what we needed and spent some of it down at the coast just relaxing, reading, fine dining, zipping around the treetops in Howick and not having a care in the world. It was absolute heaven and if you want to catch up on what we did go to Traveling And Holidays
We also spent a week just enjoying our kids and grand kids and then this morning we made our way back to the farm.
At first I felt disappointment as I always enjoy our home in Boksburg so much. I love cooking the fancy cooking and that is where I do all my experimenting. I also got caught by the quilting bug and am going to spend some time making birthday quilts for the two granddaughters. I have until July to do this as their birthdays are only a week apart. I’ll keep you up to date with that as well.
Approaching the farm my disappointment disappeared and I realized that we actually live the best of both worlds. You can see the air clear as you near the farm and there is a peace and a slowing down of pace that takes place. It’s lovely to be back here and enjoy the scenery and the walks that we enjoy so much.
Jackal Carcass
Vervet Monkey Carcass
As we arrived on the farm we found the carcasses of a jackal and a monkey and we will have to do some investigating to find out what happened. We do have leopard on the farm but the carcass of the jackal is still intact. I’ll let you know if we find out anything.
One thing we are really blessed with here on the farm is that we have the most fantastic staff. We can go away and leave them in charge of everything and be assured that when we return everything is in order.
There is not a day that goes by that I am not aware of how privileged I am to be living this life here on the farm.
