We went off to Johannesburg for the week and delivered all the birthday presents to the grand kids and it just makes me think how quickly our lives go by. Sometimes I can’t believe that I’m a granny and that my son is now a husband and a father in his own right. It was like yesterday when he was Victoria’s age and we were doing the “Nine Year” old birthday thing with him. I really have always enjoyed my children but I must say I am in a happy place in my life and would not like to do the “Nine Year Old” thing again. I just love being a gran and spending time with the grand kids. The best thing is that when you have had enough of the kids, you call up the moms and dads and organize to have them picked up. I just love that. It’s like having the best of both worlds.
We are back on the farm now and it seems as if we are going to have a cold front sweep through Mpumalanga. The weather was really warming up last week but this morning the Free State was covered in snow and we are feeling the cold as their neighbours.

We normally come to peace and quiet on the farm but we had a deluge of unwanted telephone calls. Someone placed an ad in a newspaper selling his “Toyota Corolla” and the newspaper printed the incorrect contact number. Well I am sure you can guess it. It was our office number. When the calls started coming through we figured out what had happened and I switched my phone off. I then realized that our clients would not be able to make contact with us. I then started having fun with this and we decided to see who really listens. We always bring to the attention of the children that camp with us how important it is to listen. I decided to leave a message on the voice mail telling the caller that the number for the car was incorrect but should they want to contact us about our business then to call this number .......... The fun and games then started. All the callers heard was another number and none of the message. Amazing how people are just not aware.
I am busy with my patch work and quilting again and will keep you posted.
I just want to show you how fortunate we are to live here and why we love it so much. This morning I opened the bedroom curtains to a Hoopoe enjoying his breakfast and I forgot to bring the honeycomb in last night so the Black Eye Bul Bul decided to catch a cheap meal. Even Molly enjoys the scenery even though it was really cold this morning
