Often we have the children that visit comment on our lazy dogs. They reckon that should there be reincarnation they would love to come back to earth as one of our dogs. Since Our Labrador passed away, “Capone” the Pit-bull has been fretting away but little “Molly” makes sure that you are never down for too long. She keeps everyone on their toes.
It's A Dogs Life |
This afternoon we went to check if there were any more calves born and Molly who loves being out in the veld, either next to or on the quad, was out there with us. As Molly can run at unbelievable speed for such a small dog (she can run at 40kph - no sweat) it reminded me of “Secretariat”
For those who don’t know the story, he was a famous American Thoroughbred racehorse that in 1973 became the first U.S. Triple Crown champion in twenty-five years, setting new race records in two of the three events in the Series—the Kentucky Derby (1:592⁄5), and the Belmont Stakes (2:24)—records that still stand today. After his death necropsy revealed that his heart was significantly larger than that of an ordinary horse. In fact his heart weighed a whopping 22 lbs. A horse’s heart normally weighs 7lbs. This was his secret. He had a BIG heart.
I think Molly has a BIG heart for such a tiny dog. You are a brave little soul Molly and we love you.
